God who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in times past….
God speaks to those who has ears to hear, as He said let him who has ears can hear me; so listening to His voice and His word depends on how you mend your ears to listen to Him. Once you learn to listen to Him, instantly you will recognize His voice, in a given moment.
Here I am going to quote number of instances where His word came to me to guide me what I have to do at given situation, how His word gave me an instruction to take, how he comforted me in a confusing situation…yes sundry times, and diverse manners He speaks….
Promotion cometh from the Lord:
It was the beginning days of my walk with the Lord, my life was changed, reading Bible was my food and drink. I did it because I needed the guidance to my life, and I found the Bible is the best Guide.
That day I had a letter from my dad, telling me his desire to get promotion in his job. He wrote,
“Leela, there is tough competetion for this promotion , there are one or two people who compete with me, do not know who will be selected for this promoted post, pray Leela!!”
Dad never asked me to pray, leave alone he never pray for anything, I was still in PG, I came to Hyderbad to finish my Block Placement, my specialization was Criminology and Correctional Administration , as part of my studies, I visited many Jails, and Prisons, Boy’s certified schools, Girl’s certified schools, Open prisons, interviewed number of criminals, murderers, and wrote my project reports and submitting those to the University.
That day I interviewed a man, who was going to gallows the next day. He was a Naval Officer, he was caught by the Police on Hussain Sagar bridge in odd hours of the night while he was trying to throw a jute bag into the waters.
The bag was contained the cut peices of the body of a 11 year old boy. He had illegal relationship with a friend’s wife, who was entrusted to his custody when he was his ship duty. When the son of his friend threatened him and his mom that he would tell his dad about this illegal affair, both of them cut the boy into peieces by an axe and tried to dump the bag in Moosi river waters…
He was in the cell reading a big pack of James Chase novels, answering us, in a hero style. I was a bit shaken when I saw him and also came to know that the woman who was pregnant at that time killed her self by fire in the prison it self, in Chenchalaguda women’s prison.
I was devastated and that time I received this letter from my dad, I knelt down, and was in His presence in a second, What I prayed I do not know, but His peace encompasseth me… as if led by the Lord I opened my King James Version Bible, to read it before I take an inland letter to answer my dad, There lies the words bulging out and out into my eyes.
.Psalms 75:6,7 For promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south, But God is the judge ; He puteth down one, and setteth up another
In a second I was switched off from a mood of depression to a mood of rejoicing, and praising God.
I wrote this promise to my Dad telling him, God is going to give him the much wanted and needed promotion, and that he need not look at the people.. they are not the judge, God is Judge and He will give it.
How sweetly God speaks.. do we have the ear to hear Him??
Yes, he got the much wanted and needed promotion in his career as the D.S.P (Deputy Superintendent of Police ) God sowed the seed of faith in the heart of my beloved dad.
